Enticing your audience with exceptional subject…

The following is a post from Terry Connolly, executive director of The Community Soup Kitchen. Terry shares some of the questions The Community Soup Kitchen has faced as its worked to improve its email marketing strategies.  Right now my professional life is all about subject lines.  How do you craft that perfect subject line that gets people to open the email? Because surely once they open the email they’ll see how great our organization is and they’ll be inspired to help.  I just need to get them to open that email! Should it be witty? Engaging? Intriguing? Exciting? Professional? And, does it say what we want it to say about us, in a succinct and meaningful way, all in under 60 or so…Read More

They Serve 2 is Thankful for You!

On behalf of the They Serve 2 Board we would like to say a special thank you to our partners because we couldn’t do it without you. The donations from corporations, and individuals made this year possible, and allowed us to touch the lives of thousands of military families. We want to say a special thank you to Joyce Meyer Ministries that partnered with us on two coasts to provide backpacks for military children.  Thanks to the generosity of the attendees of the Joyce Meyer Conferences in Hampton, VA and Long Beach, CA, as well as the Hands of Hope division of Joyce Meyer Ministries, we were able to directly impact the lives of military families who did not have the means to provide school supplies for their children. We…Read More

Stepping outside of your comfort zone on…

Until recently, our donation strategy was to avoid any overly forward or repetitive asks. We have erred on the side of caution – always relying on our annual gala, the generosity of recurring donors and their willingness to share our message. Let’s not email too much; let’s not be too pushy. Let’s let them come to the conclusion of donating on their own. When our #GivingTuesday…Read More
